It's been a busy spring for me and I'm so excited to share some updates with you.
In February, my contract ended at the Glencoe Area Chamber of Commerce due to restructuring and budget cuts. It was a sad day for me, as I loved working in the community and with the Chamber, though I am excited about all the future opportunities that lay ahead.
As some of you may be aware, I did a special "Logo4Forty" promotion earlier this year, that was part of a project for a course I was taking, where I had to create 70 logos in 9 weeks. So, rather than creating a bunch of fictitious companies, I chose to take the long road of working with clients and creating new client relationships...
With many thanks to my cousin, Kristin Tieche, who is a filmmaker in California, I was connected to a variety of new clients in the "Women in Film" industry, and was able to create some great new logos for them. (You can check out the Gallery to see some of the draft logos I created.) And, there's more to come too! I will be posting the final logos and some new designs in the upcoming weeks, so stay tuned!
There are also still a few logos in the works, as I had some late-comers to the project, and it also produced some additional new projects for me, including illustrating a children's book. (And that's all I can say about that project for now.)
With being without a job and a regular income for the past couple months, I have also taken on another new new client, The Tin Fish. I have been working to design a new Website for them as well as designing their menu boards for their new location at Braemar Park in Edina, MN. (Not to worry you die-hard Lake Calhoun fans, that location is still open in the summer too!) Additionally, I have stepped in to help with catering and filling in some of the shifts. It's not my dream job by any means, but I have found it to be really fun & they're all fantastic people to work with.
Speaking of The Tin Fish at Lake Calhoun, you will also find me there on Sundays (weather permitting) providing Face Painting services for kids & adults. You can also find me at Art-A-Whirl in NE Minneapolis in mid-May, where I'll be face painting as well.
So, aside from hunting for a new job and doing all sorts of other projects to fill the void, you can say my plate is pretty full... and I'm loving every minute of it!!
If you're interested in hiring me for any design projects you have coming up, feel free to Contact Me to discuss your project. I am always looking to take on new freelance clients - And, remember, no job is too small!
I hope this is finding you all well & enjoying your spring!
Keep Creating, Keep Smiling, Keep Dreaming~
